What is Lumecca?
Lumecca uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. Through photothermolysis, Lumecca provides a photofacial through a comfortable light treatment.
Who are good candidates for Lumecca Photofacial treatments?
Lumecca photofacials are an excellent option for those seeking to treat brown spots, redness and hyperpigmentation caused by vascularities and sun damage. Typically patients who are skin type 1-4 on the Fitzpatrick Scale are good candidates for Lumecca. For best results, avoid sun exposure 3-4 weeks prior to an appointment.
How soon will I notice results from a Lumecca treatment?
You’ll see improvements in your skin’s complexion and sun damage in a few days. Your skin will continue to look younger and more radiant after 1-2 weeks. In order to achieve the best results, a series of 3-6 photofacial sessions is recommended. When treating facial telangiectasias with vascular treatments, patients can expect to see results within two weeks.
Will I need any downtime after my Lumecca treatment?
The Lumecca treatment is quick and convenient. Mild to moderated redness and darkened brown spots is to be expected up to 2-3 days after the treatment. The darkened brown spots may then slough off leaving skin clearer and more radiant.
