What is Cosmelan?

How does Cosmelan work?

As little as 2 weeks a noticeable difference to pigmentation can be seen, however the best results can be seen 1-2 months following the Cosmelan peel.
The Cosmelan peel isn’t painful during application. You can experience redness and a feeling of warmth following the peel but these symptoms are very mild and only last for a couple of days. After this the skin will peel and sensitivity can be increased but this will subside after using the recommended homecare products.
Depigmentation treatments, including chemical peels and laser tend to be superficial. Although they can reduce visible pigmentation, they are unable to target the root of the problem which is the overproduction of melanin in the melanocytes.
