Skin House is a laser and skin clinic on Hitchin Road in Stopsley, Luton. Our main laser is the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus, and we pair it with Lumecca IPL for pigmentation and redness.
Laser hair removal on the GentleMax Pro Plus
The GentleMax Pro Plus combines two wavelengths: a 755 nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. Having both lets us set the treatment for your skin tone and hair, including darker skin (Fitzpatrick types I to VI) after a patch test. Its built-in Dynamic Cooling Device sprays a cooling burst onto the skin with each pulse to keep you comfortable. We offer laser hair removal for women and laser hair removal for men, from the upper lip to full legs, chest and back.
How many sessions?
Laser only affects hair in its active growth phase, and only part of your hair is growing at any one time. That is why most clients need a course of 6 to 9 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Facial hair can need more because of hormones, and occasional maintenance sessions may be needed later. Results vary from person to person. IPL for pigmentation and redness
Lumecca IPL uses intense pulsed light to target brown and red pigment: sun spots, age spots, freckles, redness and small vessels. It is usually a course of 3 to 6 sessions and is designed for Fitzpatrick skin types I to IV. Hydralight pairs it with a HydraFacial in one appointment.
Thread veins
We treat thread veins on the face and legs. Most clear in 1 to 3 sessions, depending on the area and how many there are.
Before your first session
We patch test at least 24 hours before your first treatment. For laser hair removal, shave the area the day before, avoid sun exposure, and don’t wax or pluck for 4 weeks beforehand.

Which laser do you use for hair removal?
The Candela GentleMax Pro Plus. It combines a 755 nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, with a built-in cooling spray on every pulse.
Can you treat darker skin?
Yes. The GentleMax Pro Plus can treat skin types I to VI after a patch test, because the 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength suits darker skin. Lumecca IPL is designed for skin types I to IV, so we recommend alternatives for darker skin.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Most clients need 6 to 9 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Facial areas can need more because of hormonal hair growth, and maintenance sessions may be needed later.
